Notes | Archibald Hastings was reported wounded and missing on the same day as his brother Bertie, 19th April 1917, at the second Battle of Gaza. His brother Austin was also serving. The wording in the War Roll is the same as his brother's, "A day of remembrance sad to recall". Born and enlisted Cromer, on the 1911 census he is aged 22, single and a carpenter. Service Information | He was a Sergeant, 240038, in the 1st/5th Battalion of the Norfolk Regiment. He was born and enlisted Cromer and is commemorated on the Jerusalem Memorial, Panels 12 to 15. |
