NotesHe was generally know as Charles. He became an officer in the 2nd Battalion, Royal Norfolk Regiment; he was married to Rome Flora, with sons Leo and David. Charles was killed at 'Norfolk Ridge', during the decisive battle of Kohima, part of the fight against the Japanse in the Far East, and is buried in Kohima War Cemetery.
