NotesWilliam 'Pimpo' Davies and his family were killed in the bombing raid of the night of 22nd July 1942 when a stick of bombs fell across the town, demolishing their house in Garden Street.. A share fisherman, he was frequently a member of Coxswain Henry Blogg's lifeboat crew. A recording of fellow crew member 'Tuna' Harrison says that it was he who climbed up the shrouds of the sailing barge 'Sepoy' in December 1933, when she was wrecked off Cromer beach, to assist the two crew of the vessel down into the lifeboat.
