NotesIn the 1911 census he is aged 18, single, and a student living at The Rectory, Roughton. He was born at Eastbourne. He was a son of the vicar of Cromer, the Rev. W.F.T.Hamilton. The War Roll carries the dedication,"The end of the commandment is love out of a pure heart and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned". The 25th of September was the first day of the Battle of Loos. The 12th, a Service Battalion, had landed in France earlier that month.
Service InformationLieutenant, 12th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers. Killed in action on 25th September 1915, aged 23, at Loos. He is commemorated on the Loos Memorial, Pas de Calais, France. Panel 20 to 22. (The War Roll gives 26th for his death).
